Free-to-use VPN for PC

UltraVPN is a freemium utility that lets you browse safely and anonymously by connecting you with a virtual private network (VPN). This browsing app is designed for quick and easy use, although it comes at the cost of customizability. It has a simplified interface that immediately unblocks most websites.

With a surprisingly small file size, UltraVPN is the convenient tool you need. Have it installed on your device without interrupting your space for media, apps, and games—now you can quickly and confidently bypass geo-blocking policies everywhere in the world. It works as an alternative to iTop VPN or Turbo VPN.

Great for streaming and gaming

As one of the countless free-to-use VPNs available, UltraVPN distinguishes itself by providing reliable services for streaming and gaming. For starters, it has good unblocking capabilities to help you access streaming platforms like Hulu, Netflix, HBO Go, and more. For some reason, however, its servers continue to be identified and blocked by Amazon Prime Video in the U.S., keeping its library inaccessible.

Also, it’s worth noting that while it has good coverage around the world, its server network is not as extensive as other major VPN providers. On a positive note, you can easily detect a nearby server wherever you are in the world. It can even connect to websites based in China. Meanwhile, expect to experience instances where it’s difficult to connect to a VPN server.

A huge setback for this VPN, however, is that it still collects user information despite marketing it as having a no-logs policy. While this can raise eyebrows, the security this app offers is undoubtedly good: using 256-bit encryption with various protocols to suit your needs. Additionally, it supports multiple devices, although this feature is only available under the premium subscription plan. It can host up to six devices before lagging.

A limited VPN network in a reliable app

UltraVPN is a good app that is easy to use and offers a level of control for its users. It uses reliable industry-standard security across its global network, despite being restricted in terms of traffic capabilities. If you’re looking for an excellent app to mask your location as you play games or stream video, and wouldn’t mind the data collection practices, then it’s a must-try.

User reviews about UltraVPN

Ultra VPN was reviewed by BestVPNReviews - 2 stars only. UltraVPN provides a free OpenVPN with the standard off the shelf Open source configuration. The protocol is enabled by the OS of your computer as UltraVPN does not provide any software of its own so it's not user friendly. UltraVPN has a tiny network of servers (France and USA) with no server switching and one IP!The standard OpenVPN application does not protect against the dropping of your internet connection (and is therefore highly insecure) and is missing all the basic features. UltraVPN's stated privacy sounds good but as a French company with French servers, appearances may prove deceptive. The recent enforcement of the French Law Hadopi has internet users deeply concerned as to how to comply with the law and not be spied on by the French government. The parent company of UltraVPN, Lynanda, is a French company that creates software to log and report Skype traffic for corporations and governments (dictatorships). Lynanda writes it provides "A universal software able to detect and filter Skype and P2P traffic". The French Law is clearly at odds with UltraVPN and it's odd that Lynanda would be in such a business unless they were already compliant with French Law. There is something amiss here and we think that Lynanda is providing this free service for a price. The price may be that your data goes to the French government (who share everything with the Americans or vice versa as they only have a server in the USA). I would stay away from this one. Pros: Not a one Cons: • Does not protect your originating IP if the internet connection fails. All your applications will be switched to your local IP and you may not know it – an OpenVPN problem that is fixed by the better VPN services.• No real privacy with French servers and the enforcement of the new French laws• Parent company, Lynanda, makes software that is used to log and cache Skype for dictatorships worldwide.• No server switching, if you want multiple countries, you have to buy multiple plans.• Software standard OpenVPN with NO features and user un-friendly & inconvenient• No automation on start up• No automatic choice of fastest server (lowest latency)• Dynamic IPs and Static IPs not available• No support• Does not support IPv6

Free and Safe?. their official website ugly. I can't believe that is a site of professional product. Also I have to install a software into my computer.... I hate this ( I am using FBVPN with PPTP?most system native installed, works good for me)Most users don't know install a unknown software may be a disaster. even it's not virus, it may collect our surfing data.I prefer PPTP VPN instead, ask your VPN provider a PPTP or L2TP account. Pros: seems free of charge Cons: have to install something and speed is lagging

In Softonic we scan all the files hosted on our platform to assess and avoid any potential harm for your device. Our team performs checks each time a new file is uploaded and periodically reviews files to confirm or update their status. This comprehensive process allows us to set a status for any downloadable file as follows:

Clean

It’s extremely likely that this software program is clean.

What does this mean?

We have scanned the file and URLs associated with this software program in more than 50 of the world's leading antivirus services; no possible threat has been detected.

Warning

This software program is potentially malicious or may contain unwanted bundled software.

Why is the software program still available?

Based on our scan system, we have determined that these flags are possibly false positives.

What is a false positive?

It means a benign program is wrongfully flagged as malicious due to an overly broad detection signature or algorithm used in an antivirus program.

We’d like to highlight that from time to time, we may miss a potentially malicious software program. To continue promising you a malware-free catalog of programs and apps, our team has integrated a Report Software feature in every catalog page that loops your feedback back to us.

Flag any particular issues you may encounter and Softonic will address those concerns as soon as possible.
